Creating the Creative Industries

THE CREATIVE INDUSTRIES have been around as long as the human race but their role in society is changing radically. As populations have become more affluent than ever before, spending has increased on products and services that stem from the Creative Industries such as film, furniture, music, digital entertainment, advertising, etc.

The Creative Industries have always served a fundamental role in the development of culture, now they also play a vital part in sustaining and developing our societies on an economic level. They provide growth and new work places that compensate for those lost due to globalisation. Despite this, we do not yet have a shared understandingof the role and potential of the Creative Industries.

This is where the Jenka network comes in. Jenka has a unique focus on those Nordic sectors that service the Creative Industries – with people, policies and money. These sectors include: Education & Research, Regional Development and Business Incubators & Developers. These sectors build the foundation on which the Creative Industries grow.

Jenka connects Nordic organisations and provides them with seminars, master classes, workshops, case studies, relevant intelligence and international contacts. By sharing knowledge and developing projects, we contribute to creating strong and sustainable development for the Creative Industries in the Nordic region. This is why Jenka is co-financed by the Nordic Innovation Centre.

As Chairman of Jenka, I warmly invite you to join our growing and committed network.

Jenka Newsletter
All over the world, the significance and potential of the Creative Industries are being realized but we do not share an understanding of what the Creative Industries are. This prevents us from fully collaborating to develop its potential. Jenka helps create a shared understanding of the Creative Industries across the Nordic region.
